Dr. Neal discusses dentures video
If you’ve lost all of your natural teeth, whether from periodontal disease, tooth decay or injury, complete dentures can replace your missing teeth and your smile. Replacing missing teeth will benefit your appearance and your health. Without support from the denture, facial muscles sag, making a person look older. You’ll be able to eat and speak—things that people often take for granted until their natural teeth are lost.
There are various types of complete dentures. A conventional full denture is made and placed in the patient’s mouth after the remaining teeth are removed and tissues have healed which may take several weeks to a few months. An immediate complete denture is inserted as soon as the remaining teeth are removed. The dentist takes measurements and makes models of the patient’s jaws during a preliminary visit. With immediate dentures, the denture wearer does not have to be without teeth during the healing period. An overdenture is utilized when a few remaining teeth can be used to stabilize the denture. An overdenture is a complete denture unlike a partial denture

Neither do we. Too often a dentist will order a denture setup that looks perfect to the lab technicians but when a patient smiles, it looks like a denture. Dr. Neal utilizes his vast cosmetic training to make sure your smile looks natural. He uses techniques developed over years of practice to create beautiful , natural smiles that enhance your look and self confidence. Custom tweaking a slight variation in tooth position or shape creates outstanding esthetics and yet a smile unique to you alone. |

If you have an existing denture that has worn, but you are happy with the basic tooth shape and color, Dr. Neal will have the lab recreate that same denture setup. If you have a photo of yourself when your smile was OK and you want to recreate that look, bring in the photo and Dr. Neal can use that image to help duplicate the same smile design in your new denture. If you want to change your smile, Dr. Neal can start over from scratch and design a smile that fits your face and enhances your features. He does this by using measurements from your face to determine the |
right proportions corresponding to your facial type to pick complementary tooth shape and sizes. Dr. Neal will take the time to help you evaluate your new smile and make any changes that are needed. We encourage family members to accompany you for their input. If Dr. Neal is changing your smile, and you are uncertain of the new look, he will take photos of the new smile for you to take home and evaluate with family members at your leisure. Only after both you and Dr. Neal are satisfied with your new smile in a try in state, will he proceed to the finished denture.
Absolutely it can. If you go shopping and pick out a gorgeous, well made and properly fitted outfit or suit, it can dramatically improve your appearance. The same holds true if you go to a terrific hair stylist and they give you a great cut and style. Your smile is no different and it will be available for others to see every day. Smile Makeovers with dentures are one of the Dr. Neal's favorites because the dramatic improvement can be achieved instantaneously with the new denture. Whenever Dr. Neal delivers a gorgeous new denture for one of our patients, we cannot wait to see the new smile. Often the improvement is such that patients weep with joy, hug Dr. Neal and bring us treats to thank us. Our patients have a new sense of self confidence and love to smile.
Dentsply has been manufacturing denture teeth for over 120 years. They have been the premier denture tooth maker from the beginning Dentsply has numerous patents and innovations that have improved the lives of millions of patients over the years. They are quite simply the best denture teeth.
Yes the lab makes a huge difference. Dr. Neal has tried several labs for his dentures over the years. He always comes back to the very first lab he used over 30 years ago due to their skill and consistency. That lab is a local one called Dental Craft Corp. in Ringwood Illinois. Rick, the lab owner, has followed in his father's footsteps. He provides high quality materials, unparalleled attention to detail, skill, and knowledge. Rick And Dr. Neal make a terrific team. Together we consistently provide stunning and comfortable results for our patients.
Due to his extensive cosmetic training, Dr. Neal is in a class by himself when it comes to cosmetic dentures. He will take the time to make sure your smile is everything your are hoping for.
For people who want more security and stability, full dentures can be used in combination with dental implants. There are two basic ways this can be achieve:
Often a patient with an existing denture will not have enough bony ridge to adequately support a denture. This happens more often with a lower denture. Dr. Neal is skilled at placing conventional or mini implants in your lower jawbone to stabilize the existing denture or a new denture. Dr. Neal is certified to place and restore implant supported dentures and partials.
Even if you wear full dentures, you still must take good care of your mouth. Brush your gums, tongue and palate every morning with a soft-bristled brush before you insert your dentures to stimulate circulation in your tissues and help remove plaque.
