When you decide to correct or enhance your smile, it's often difficult to determine ahead of time exactly what kind of results to expect. After all, a smile is a pretty personal thing, and changing your smile can feel like changing your identity. That's where a smile mock-up imaging comes into play. A smile mock-up is done either directly in your mouth, or on models of your teeth.
In mouth method....
A composite plastic tooth colored material can be applied to the teeth temporarily to show quickly and reversible who we can change your smile.
On a model method....
Reshaping of teeth as well as addition to tooth shape and length can be seen on a model. This method allows us to modify the models and create in wax the procedures you're considering. Under many conditions a thin clear plastic splint can be made from the "waxup" and filled with tooth colored plastic which can be placed over your teeth to give a representation fo the final result.
Both of these methods allow you to see in you own mouth what your new smile could look like.
We can take a picture of the mock-up in your mouth so y9ucan show it to others for more feedback. The result is a photo that shows you what your smile would look like after treatment. Whether you're considering teeth whitening, straightening, bonding, veneers, or a complete smile makeover, a smile mock-up can help you see the future.
The process is quite simple. Once your dentist has completed your oral exam and discussed your smile goals, a treatment plan will be created. Models and digital photos of your current smile will be taken.
